Protecting our ocean resources

Every coastal fisheries case, one complete record.

Our reefs and lagoons feed our families and support our communities. The Coastal Fisheries Enforcement Database helps make sure that the rules protecting them, from size limits to prohibited fishing methods, are applied fairly and recorded properly.

Each case moves through three clear stages. A Fisheries Officer registers the offence, the people involved and any items seized. The Prosecutor then records the investigation, summons and court dates. Finally, the officer completes the outcome, including the result, how exhibits were disposed of and whether the fine has been paid.

Once a stage is submitted it is locked, and every change is recorded in the case history. Officers and prosecutors each work only on their own part, so the final report can be trusted from start to finish.
